STYLE STALK: Natalie Dormer

Natalie Dormer recently debuted a punky new look at the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at The Shrine Auditorium on January 18, 2014 in Hollywood, giving her usual classic look some serious edge!

The Games of Thrones actress wowed fans with her awesome new ‘do, with the left side of her head completely shaved. Hot! The star counter-pointed her new undercut with a sparkly, intricate, interlocked silver ear cuff and an interesting french braid along her crown. Her smouldering dark eye makeup perfectly accentuated her feline peepers.

She’s perfectly straddling that line between refined glamour and punk, wearing a sleeveless white gown with chain-metal inspired mesh sleeves by Marios Schwab, breaking entirely from her usual look as the future Queen of Westeros on GOT.

The actress commented on her new ‘do, noting that she had taken the plunge for her upcoming role in the Hunger Games: Mockingjay series of films.  The actress knew she would have to shave her head before she committed to the final two film installments of the action-packed series, noting that when she originally took on the role the idea was for her to shave her whole head for her part as Cressida.

However as the character was developed, it was decided she would sport a half-shaven do instead, buzzing off half of her flowing locks last October.

“It’s been hidden for 3 months. I was waiting for the right moment,” she explained. “I was a little bit nervous [about shaving it], because as women for some weird reason we have a lot of our identity bound up in our hair,” she said “But just to get rid of it was liberating.”

I definitely think her new look is edgy and totally hot. It’s added edge and sass to her style which was always classic and classy. I love how the shaved side totally contrasts with her long flowing locks, and paired with those amazing blue cat eyes of hers, her style has elevated to a whole new level.

Where are my clippers, I feel like shaving my head again!
